The Sweet Gum is an absolute star of the show in autumn with its beautiful display of leaf colour change! They have deeply-lobed leaves, almost Acer-like, coming out late in spring, green in colour throughout spring and summer, holding on late into autumn before turning a striking mix of oranges and reds. In winter, its bare bark is corky and ridged, providing winter interest. They are fairly slow-growing and can be pruned to keep to size and shape.
